Angles, everywhere...

Tuesday 03 Oct 2017 23:00pm

This week, Year 5 have been learning all about angles and we've had Sam the Dog to help us as we almost had 100% attendance last week! On Monday we reminded ourselves of the names of the different types of angles, and learnt a new one (did you know that an angle that is bigger than 180 degrees is called a reflex angle?)

On Tuesday, we created our own angle measurers and went on an angle hunt around the school. Many of the angles we found were right angles, but it didn't take long by looking at the architecture of the school, plus the equipment outside, for us to find acute, obtuse and reflex angles. If you see one of Year 5, why not ask them what each of these angles are!

On Wednesday, we were finding missing angles in different shapes. Did you know that when you add together the angles of a triangle, they always add up to 180 degrees. It doesn't matter which type of triangle it is, whether equilateral, isosceles, right angled or scalene, it's always 180 degrees!

Photo's of our activities to follow!
