Art Rules ok!

Welcome back after what we hope was a good holiday.
What a week it has been! We began our new science topic on Monday looking at things which use electricity and talking about how to use it responsibly. The children in Year 4 understand both the safety implications and the social responsibility question - using resources carefully so that there are some left for future generations. Our homework is to solve 12 riddles to identify electrical appliances. I wonder who will be most successful?
Then we turned our minds to things artistic. Our science last half term lent itself well to art to support the calendar which will be available shortly and there were super illustrations of hedgehogs and butterflies for November and July. Congratulations to the two whose drawings were chosen, though I can't tell you who they are until publication!
Then we started to think about the frozen land, this term's topic. The children have begun some beautiful pastel work designing an igloo at sunset image. Watch out for the display when you come in to school.
After the excitement of Hallowe'en and a very enjoyable disco, we turned our minds to Bonfire Night and the art group used this theme in Golden Time. Have a look at the photos below.
With that in mind. Stay safe and have a lovely weekend.
