Charles Waterton Workshop

Monday 07 Nov 2016 00:00am

Today we headed to Wakefield Museum for a Charles Waterton workshop. When we arrived, our host Louise sat us down and we discussed what we already knew about his life. We looked at a picture of him capturing a caymen, and talked with our partner about what else we could see. Louise asked us to pretend to use a blowpipe to capture animals, the sounds were very funny!

We were split into two groups and started our activities. One group headed for the Waterton exhibition and explored what we could find in the jungle. The things we could see and feel were very interesting. The other group used quills and ink to write like Charles Waterton did in his diaries. Everyone had a great time and we learnt a lot of thingss that we can use in our topic lessons.
