Tudor Workshop

On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to take part in a full day Tudor workshop! Our host for the day was called John, and he was dressed like a rich Tudor man wearing leather boots and hose. When we arrived in the hall, John asked us what we already knew about the Tudors. He was extremely impressed! He then showed us a huge display of artefacts and we discussed what they were used for. In groups, we then drew different artefacts and wrote about what they were made of and what we thought they were. Before lunch, we went back to classrooms and took part in a Tudor maths game involving Roman numerals - some children loved it so much that they decided to stay in over lunchtime to complete it!
In the afternoon, we were given the change to hold muskets, swords, daggers and helmets. Some lucky children were chosen to display them at the front of the hall. Our final activity was to take part in some Tudor dancing. We weren't great at it but we had fun trying! Everyone had a wonderful day and were a credit to our school. Well done Year 3!
