A New Beginning

The children in Year 3 have made a wonderful start to life in KS2! During the first week, we enjoyed many activities including designing the new class blog logo (coming soon), coats of arms about ourselves and starting our new science topic.

This week, we have begun our formal timetable. Our class reading book is Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne and we have been using our reading VIPERS skills to help us understand it. In English, we are writing a diary based on The Mousehole Cat. Mr Carver is very impressed with our beautiful handwriting! We have begun to learn about place value in maths and we can understand how to partition 3 digit numbers. We have already produced some wonderful artwork about our mining topic and we excited to visit the Mining Museum next week. We will keep you posted with all the activities we do as often as possible.
